Racecourse Features and Location

Pontefract Racecourse is only half a mile from Junction 32 of the M62. The M62 passes the northern side of the track and links with the A1, M1 and M18 within 10 miles of the Course.

The racing programme has been greatly improved in recent years and the motorway links provide good communications with all other major training centres in the Country, with the result that the racing is both competitive and entertaining.

Extensive improvements over the past few years have made Pontefract one of the best appointed courses of its kind in the Country. There are modern bars and refreshment areas in all enclosures.

There is a CCTV System in operation on every race day with Televisions in all bars and refreshment areas. There are modern totesport facilities and kiosks throughout the stands. There is a children’s playground in the Third Enclosure at Sunday meetings, and an off-course Betting Office in the Paddock and Second Enclosure.

For the regular visitor an "Annual Badge" offers all year round Club facilities at an excellent discount.

There are restaurants in the Club and Paddock Stands. The Park Suite Restaurant in the Club offers an all inclusive dining package with reserved tables for the whole day. For details of availability and costs please call CGC Events on 0113 287 6387.

Everything the Racegoer needs is in easy reach and there is an excellent view of the track from all Enclosures.
